‘Ulu Workshop - Grow and Eat More Canoe Plants!

This last Saturday Voyaging foods co-hosted an outreach workshop as part of our outreach programs to grow & eat more canoe plants!

Mālama Learning Center WithOutWalls Workshop took us to Kahumana Organic Farm & Cafe in Waianae! We learned how to tell how ripe an ulu is and what is the best stage of ripeness to cook with for different recipes. We then learned techniques for cutting and prepping the fruit and finally prepared some ono recipes! Mahalo Nina Beatty for sharing with us some of your vast ulu knowledge with us and delicious recipes. I donʻt think anyone left hungry!
